The Capstone project is an all year project that we have worked on all year for english class. Each person researches something that they are intrested in and want to explore more. The research begins during summer break where the students pick a book to read on the topic they are intrested in. I read Neil DeGrasse Tyson's Death By Black Hole. However, during the school year more research is done with resources other than the summer reading book which is considered a starting point. Each student then writes seven essays that explore different parts of their topics. The whole research process is very loose because the exploration of the topic can take so many different paths. My Capstone is about the mystery of space and the universe and how all of its intresting and beautiful phenomena are connected to the human species. My Capstone also touches on topics such as education and how people view science, mathematics, and technology. The capstone has allowed me to research something that I actually wanted to research for the first time in my life. It was the first time really when I had the free reign to look at any topic I really wanted. I think the process is good because it has forced me to find my own information through different means. I have used everything from websites, movies, documentaries, and books.
